OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND LOVE TO OUR FRIENDS AT WOONONA

WOMEN MAKING WAVES DAY - POSTPONED

Yesterday, Heba Abrihim, a player for the Over 30s Woonona Sharks passed away, after
collapsing during a game two weeks ago. Today Coledale Waves were scheduled to play
Woonona Sharks at St James. Her team want to play the game and have asked for it to be
played at Ocean Park, Woonona, this morning at 9am, which we have of course agreed to.

Many of our Coledale Waves members are also part of the Woonona Sharks family.
The club has postponed the Women Making Waves day of celebration. We apologise for any
inconvenience, and we thank you for your understanding. The Coledale Over 40s match at
11am and the Division 2 All Age game will still proceed, and there will be a BBQ in the
afternoon. All other celebrations will be rescheduled.

It is a tragic reminder today that we should hug our friends, children, partners and mates a
little longer today (and every day). And ensure we hold them tight, or pick up the phone, or
send that message, to say, “I love you”.

As a club we will take a few days to reflect. And we will offer and show our support to Heba’s
family and our friends at Woonona, in the most appropriate way over the coming days and
weeks. I am open to suggestions or ideas.

I am here in my role as President, or simply on a personal level as a friend to support you and
be there for you, so please do reach out, any time, via email message, or phone.

We also have a Member Protection Officer, Paul Empson who is available for any support,
0410 579 299. And soon to appoint a Female Member Protection Officer shortly as well.
We simply send our deepest sympathies and deepest love to Heba’s family, the Woonona
Football Club,

Roger Carter
